At Ed&Beyond Ltd. (Registered UK Company 16073813), we are dedicated to building inclusive tech communities that drive innovation, create opportunities, and deliver sustainable social impact. Through our Agency, Academy, and Programs, we equip the next generation with advanced technical and creative skills.
We believe that providing a safe, secure, and encouraging environment (both offline and in our digital workspaces) is fundamental to our mission. This policy outlines our protective measures, parental consent frameworks, and data privacy protocols to ensure complete peace of mind for parents, guardians, and participants.
1. Scope & Age Guidelines
Our core Talent Incubation Programme (TIP) and advanced technical bootcamps are designed for emerging professionals aged 16 to 25.
Ages 16 and Over: Participants aged 16 and over are legally recognized as digital adults under UK data protection laws and may register for our programs and events independently.
Under the Age of 16: Creative minds under the age of 16 are warmly welcomed to our public community showcases, workshops, and introductory Academy programs. However, they must register and participate under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Verifiable Parental Consent
To comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Children's Code, we enforce a strict parental consent process for participants under 16:
Registration Gate: Any registration for a minor under 16 must be completed by their parent or legal guardian.
Consent Validation: During registration for any Academy track or community showcase, the parent/guardian must actively check our consent box, confirming their relationship and granting permission for the minor to access our learning platforms.
Direct Verification: For ongoing technical training or mentorship, our administration team will contact the registered parent/guardian directly via admin@edandbeyond.com to verify details before onboarding.
3. Digital Safety & Moderation (Safety by Design)
Our digital learning spaces, webinars, and virtual classrooms are built around "safety-by-design" principles to ensure there are no unmonitored or unsafe interactions:
Disabled Private Messaging: During public webinars, showcases, and digital events, all peer-to-peer private chat features are completely disabled. Attendees can only message our designated, vetted event moderators.
Professional Moderation: All collaborative digital channels, code review repositories, and virtual meeting rooms are strictly moderated by our senior team and vetted technical partners.
Zero-Tolerance Policy: We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, inappropriate language, or discriminatory behavior. Vetted moderators will instantly remove any participant who violates these community guidelines.
4. Data Privacy & Protection
We treat your family’s personal data with the absolute highest standards of confidentiality:
Data Minimisation: We only collect the minimal personal details (names, contact emails, and age-bracket confirmations) required to run our events and verify safety.
No Commercial Profiling: We strictly do not track, profile, or market commercial services to minors under 16.
Purpose Limitation: Any registration data collected is used strictly for event coordination, safeguarding compliance, and delivery logistics. It is never shared with third-party advertisers.
Secure Storage: All personal data is stored securely on encrypted, access-controlled databases in accordance with our standard Privacy Policy.
5. Our Mentorship Standards & Senior Oversight
Our founder, Edward Yebuah-Okwei, brings over 20 years of software engineering and community leadership experience to the organization. Under our Double-Lock Quality Assurance Process, all educational curriculums, creative exercises, and technical projects are designed and supervised by senior, vetted professionals. This ensures that your child is receiving world-class guidance in a safe, constructive environment.
